Meta Ads management · Facebook & Instagram

Meta Ads in Ottawa: reach local customers on Facebook and Instagram.

Meta advertising means paid ads on Facebook and Instagram. Google Ads usually reaches people who are already searching for a service. Meta Ads can introduce your business to people while they are browsing, before they start looking, and remind people who showed interest but did not get in touch.

What it is

What Meta advertising is

Facebook and Instagram are both owned by Meta and run on the same advertising system. One campaign can show ads in the Facebook feed, the Instagram feed, Stories and Reels.

The biggest difference from Google is timing. On Google, a person types what they need and chooses from the results. On Facebook and Instagram, nobody is searching for you. They are catching up with friends or watching videos, and your ad appears in between. That makes Meta better at creating interest than capturing it.

Ads can be shown to people by location, age, interests and behaviour, and shown again to people who have already visited your website or engaged with your page.

The business problem

When Meta Ads makes sense

Search advertising only works when people are already looking. Meta Ads helps when the problem is that not enough people know about the business yet, or when the service sells best once people can see it.

  • You rely entirely on search. When fewer people search for your service, fewer people call.
  • Potential customers do not know you exist. They have never had a reason to look you up.
  • Your work is visual. A finished renovation, a clean car or a new garden is persuasive when people can see it.
  • You have something specific to promote. A seasonal service, an offer, an installation or a before-and-after transformation.
  • People visit your website and leave. Without a way to reach them again, most never come back.

How AdVelocity helps

What we plan, build and manage

A Meta campaign is more than boosting a post. It needs the right audience, a clear message, creative that earns attention, and a simple way to get in touch.

Planning

  • Audience research. Who is likely to buy, and where they live.
  • Campaign structure. Separate campaigns for new audiences and for people who already showed interest.
  • Ad messaging. What the ad says, in plain terms, and what it asks people to do.

Creative and campaigns

  • Creative strategy. Which photos and videos to use. Real work usually beats stock images.
  • Lead form campaigns. Enquiries collected without people leaving Facebook or Instagram.
  • Landing page campaigns. Ads that send people to a page built for that one offer.
  • Retargeting. Reminding website visitors and engaged people, once there is enough activity to do it well.

Measuring and improving

  • Testing. Trying different images, headlines and offers, and keeping what produces enquiries.
  • Conversion tracking. Recording forms, calls and bookings that come from Meta.
  • Ongoing optimization. Moving budget toward the ads and audiences that produce leads.

Campaign stages

The stages a Meta campaign works through

People rarely enquire the first time they see a business. A good campaign reaches new people, builds interest, reminds people who looked, and then asks for the enquiry. Select a stage to see what changes.

Reaching new people

The first ads reach people in your area who have never heard of you. They are scrolling, so the ad needs a clear image or video and one simple message to earn a moment of attention.

Who sees it
People chosen by location, age, interests or behaviour.
What the ad shows
Real work, a clear offer, or a short video explaining what you do.
What to watch
Whether people stop, watch and click. It is too early to judge on enquiries alone.

Placements

Where the ads appear

01

Facebook feed

Still where most local businesses reach the widest audience in their area.

02

Instagram feed

Strong for anything visual, where photos of finished work do the persuading.

03

Stories and Reels

Full screen and vertical. These need their own creative rather than a cropped feed post.

04

Messenger and partner apps

Useful for reminders, but watched closely because the quality of traffic varies.

AdVelocity manages advertising on these platforms. No partner or agency status with Meta is claimed.

Who it can help

Businesses that do well on Meta

Meta tends to work best when the result can be shown, the offer is clear, and the business replies quickly to new enquiries.

For urgent needs, such as a burst pipe or a furnace that stopped working, people search Google instead, so Google Ads usually comes first.

  • Renovation companies
  • Landscaping
  • Auto detailing
  • Home improvement
  • Cleaning companies
  • Gyms and fitness studios
  • Salons and clinics
  • Local promotions and events
  • Any service with visual results

Hypothetical example

A renovation company promoting kitchen projects

An Ottawa renovation company wants more kitchen renovation enquiries in the spring. People rarely search for a renovation company until they have already decided to renovate, so the company uses Meta to reach homeowners earlier.

The campaign shows before-and-after photos of real completed kitchens to homeowners inside the company’s service area. People who tap the ad see a short quote form asking for their name, phone number, postal code and a rough idea of the project.

Every form submission is recorded, so the company can see which photos and messages produced enquiries. People who visited the website without enquiring see a reminder ad a few days later, and new leads are called back the same day.

This illustrates how a campaign can be set up. It is not a client result.
