Lead generation

Lead generation in Ottawa: turning attention into real enquiries.

Lead generation is not just getting more traffic. It means getting potential customers to take a real step, such as calling, requesting a quote or booking, and making sure every one of those enquiries is captured, tracked and followed up.

What it means

What counts as a lead

A lead is a potential customer who does something that lets you contact them or book them in.

  • Calling the business
  • Submitting a contact form
  • Requesting a quote
  • Booking an appointment

A website visit, a like on Instagram or a click on an ad is not a lead on its own. It only becomes one when the person gets in touch.

How the system works

How a lead generation system works

Each step hands the customer to the next one. If any step is weak, fewer people make it to the end.

  1. 01Advertising or trafficGoogle, Meta or search results bring in the right people.
  2. 02Relevant landing pageA page that answers what they came for.
  3. 03Call, form or bookingAn easy way to get in touch on a phone.
  4. 04Lead capturedDetails arrive somewhere you will see them.
  5. 05Follow-upA fast reply by phone, text or email.
  6. 06Potential customerA real conversation about the job.

Stage by stage

What happens at each stage

Select a stage to see what it does, where it usually goes wrong, and what AdVelocity sets up.

Attract the right people

The first job is reaching people who are likely to need what you sell, in the area you serve. For most local businesses that means people searching on Google, and people who can be introduced to the business on Facebook and Instagram.

Where it goes wrong: paying for clicks from people who were never going to buy, such as job seekers, people outside your area, or people looking for free advice.

What AdVelocity sets up
Search campaigns built around the words real customers use, and social campaigns aimed at the right area and audience.
What to look for
Visitors arriving from known sources, not just a general rise in traffic.

What matters

Good lead generation depends on seven things working together

Strong ads cannot make up for a confusing page, and a great page cannot help if nobody answers the phone.

01

Targeting

Reaching people who are likely to buy, in the area you serve.

02

Message

Saying clearly what you do and why someone should choose you.

03

Offer

Giving people a specific reason to get in touch now, such as a free quote or an inspection.

04

Page experience

A fast, clear page that works properly on a phone.

05

Lead capture

Easy ways to call, send a form or book a time.

06

Tracking

Knowing which ads and pages produced each enquiry.

07

Follow-up

Replying quickly, before the customer contacts someone else.

Common gaps

Where enquiries usually get lost

01

The wrong traffic

Budget spent on searches or audiences that were never going to buy.

02

The wrong page

A click that lands on a homepage and has to hunt for the service it was promised.

03

Friction

A long form, a slow page, or a phone number that cannot be tapped.

04

Slow follow-up

An enquiry that sits in an inbox nobody checks and gets answered two days later.

How AdVelocity helps

Connecting the pieces instead of only buying traffic

Many businesses handle these pieces separately. One company runs the ads, the website was built years ago by someone else, nobody set up tracking, and enquiries land in an inbox that gets checked once a day.

AdVelocity looks at the whole path from the first ad to the first conversation, and fixes the weakest step first.

  • Google and Meta advertising aimed at the right people and area.
  • Landing pages and website pages built for the service being advertised.
  • Call buttons, quote forms and booking links that work well on phones.
  • Conversion tracking, so every call, form and booking is recorded with its source.
  • An AI receptionist to answer calls you would otherwise miss.
  • Plain reporting on what produced enquiries and what to change next.
Hypothetical example

A roofing company with clicks but few quote requests

A roofing company runs Google Ads and gets a steady number of clicks, but very few quote requests. Looking at the whole path shows three gaps: the ads send everyone to the homepage, the quote form asks eleven questions, and nobody knows which searches the few enquiries came from.

The fixes follow the system above. Ads for roof repair go to a roof repair page with a tap-to-call button near the top. The quote form is cut down to name, phone, address and a short description. Calls and form submissions are tracked by campaign, and new enquiries are answered the same day.

This illustrates how gaps are found and fixed. It is not a client result.
